Awami League program in the month of mourning

The Crime Desk: Awami League has announced a month-long program from the first hour of August around the month of mourning. The details of the program were announced in a press release signed by the party’s office secretary, Barrister Biplab Barua, on Wednesday (July 31).

The party has called on all levels of Awami League leaders and workers, supporters, and all allied social, cultural, and political organizations to hold various programs for the month-long mourning day.

At the same time, the leaders of all the districts, cities, upazilas, police stations, municipalities, unions, wards, and all branches of the Awami League have been requested to carry out the program in accordance with the central program adopted on the occasion of National Mourning Day.

On the occasion of the beginning of the month of mourning, the Awami Swachhasebak League organized a light procession towards the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi at 12:01 pm on July 31. At the same time, the fishermen’s league and Bangladesh Chhatra League lit candles in memory of the martyrs of August 15.

A voluntary blood donation program, discussion meeting, and doa mahfil organized by Krishak League will be held at the Krishibid Institute Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium at 10 a.m. on August 1. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be the chief guests. Jubo Mahila League is scheduled to pay homage to the portrait of the Father of the Nation at 7 a.m. The Jatiya Sramik League will hold a condolence rally in front of the Awami League central office at Bangabandhu Avenue on the same day at 10 a.m..

From 1st to 31st August, Jubo League will hold a month-long Koran Khatam, pray prayers in memory of the martyrs of August 15, and distribute food to the helpless and needy. Besides, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League will organize a month-long Korankhani and Doa Mahfil at Bad Fajr Banani Cemetery Mosque.

Krishak League will organize a voluntary blood donation program, discussion meeting, distribution of food to the needy, tree planting, and prayer mahfil in all districts, upazilas, and unions across the country on Friday, August 2.

Fishermen’s League will hold a tree plantation program on August 3.

On August 4, the Awami Jubo League will hold a youth rally/human bonding/standing program and memorandum with divisional commissioners across the country.

On the occasion of the birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal on August 5 at 8 am wreath laying on his portrait at Abahani Club premises. 8.45 am Tribute at Banani Cemetery. Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of Sheikh Kamal’s birthday at the 23 Bangabandhu Avenue Central Office.

Besides, the Jubo League, Chhatra League, and Fishermen’s League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal’s birthday. Awami Swachhasebak League will organize a discussion meeting and photo exhibition on the occasion of Sheikh Kamal’s birthday at 11 o’clock on the same day.

On August 7, the Jubo League will present a memorandum to the upazila executive officer and the youth rally/human bonding/location program in all the upazilas, police stations, municipalities, and unions of the country.

On the occasion of the birthday of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib on August 8, at 8 am in the Banani cemetery, the Awami League, Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League, and its affiliated organizations will pay respects to Koran Khatam, Milad, and Doa Mahfil. Besides, the Awami Jubo League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of Bangmata Shaheed Sheikh Fazilatun Nescha Mujib’s birthday. Awami Swachhasebak League and Matsyajeevi League will hold a Milad Mahfil and discussion meeting on the occasion of Bangmata Shaheed Sheikh Fazilatun Necha Mujib’s birth anniversary.

Jatiya Sramik League will pay tribute at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tonguipara on August 9 at 11 a.m..

Mahila Sramik League will organize a National Mourning Day discussion meeting at Awami League’s central office on August 10. Besides, Mahila Awami League will hold a discussion meeting at the central office of Awami League at 10 am on the occasion of Bangmata’s birthday.

The Awami Swachhasebak League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day on August 11.

The Fishermen’s League will release fish fry on the occasion of National Day of Mourning on Monday, August 12. On the same day at 3 pm at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatun Necha Mujib Convention Center of BSMMU, the Independence Doctors Council will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day.

Awami Swachhasebak League will hold a three-day (August 13 to August 15) photo exhibition on the occasion of National Mourning Day at Dhanmondi 32 historical Bangabandhu Bhavan premises on August 13.

The program of National Mourning Day on August 15 includes half-masting of national and party flags and hoisting of black flags at Bangabandhu Bhavan and all offices of the organization across the country, including the central office at sunrise. At 6:30 in the morning, place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Bangabandhu Bhavan premises of Dhanmondi, the historical memorial of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Tribute to martyrs of August 15, shrine visit, Fateha recitation, prayer, and Milad Mahfil at Banani graveyard at 8 am.

Tribute, Fateha recitation, Milad, and Doa Mahfil at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara at noon. A delegation of Awami League, Gopalganj District, and Tungipara Upazila Awami League leaders will be present in that program. Apart from Bad Zohar, prayers and Milad Mahfil are held in all mosques of the country, including the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.

Apart from this, as part of the nationwide special prayer program in temples, pagodas, churches, places of worship, lighting of candles and special prayers at Mirpur Baptist Church (3/7-A Senpara, Parvata, Mirpur-10) centrally on that day at first hour (12:01 PM), at 9 AM. The Christian community will organize a special prayer at the Holy Rosary Church, Tejgaon; the Buddhist community will organize a prayer meeting at the Merul Badda International Buddhist Vihar in the capital at 10 am; and the Hindu community will organize a prayer meeting at the Dhakeshwari National Temple at 11:30 am. In the afternoon, distribution of food and public feast among poor, orphans, and poor people across the country.

The Women’s Awami League will organize prayer and milad mahfil at the historic Bangabandhu Bhavan premises of Bad Asr Dhanmondi number 32.

A National Mourning Day discussion meeting will be held on August 16 at 4 pm at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center or Dhaka District Awami League Building. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting.

Discussion meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue Central Office of Awami League on the occasion of August 17 serial bombing day. On this day, the Volunteer League will form a human chain to demand justice for the bombers. The Chhatra League will hold a rally against ‘terrorism and fundamentalism’ in protest against a series of bomb attacks across the country. The Jubo League will hold rallies against militancy and fundamentalism and display black flags across the country.

Dhaka District South Farmers League and Jatiya Sramik League Dhaka Metropolitan North will hold a mourning day discussion meeting on August 18.

Bangladesh Krishak League will organize a drawing competition on Bangabandhu among farmers’ children at the Krishibid Institute Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium on August 20. Sramik League Dhaka Metropolitan South will hold a discussion meeting on National Mourning Day at 3 pm on the same day.

Awami League will organize a tribute and discussion meeting at the central office premises of Awami League at 11 o’clock on the occasion of Hell Grenade Attack Day on August 21. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting. At 5:21 PM, the Awami Swachhasevak League will pay tribute and light the flame in memory of the martyrs killed in the grenade attack. Besides, the farmers’ league will hold a discussion meeting and prayer ceremony.

On the occasion of National Mourning Day, a discussion meeting, doa mahfil, and food items will be distributed at Krishibid Institute on August 22 at the initiative of the Dhaka Metropolitan Northern Farmers League.

Mahila Awami League will hold a discussion meeting at the Bangabandhu Avenue central office of Awami League at 10 am in memory of the martyrs of the August 23-21 grenade attack and on the occasion of Ivy Rahman’s death anniversary. Meanwhile, the Mahila Sramik League will form a human chain in front of the National Press Club at 10 a.m., demanding the hanging of the planners of the 21 August grenade attack. On the same day, the Free Specialist Medical Camp will be held in all districts by the Independence Medical Council.

Awami League, Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League will organize a tribute, doa, and milad mahfil in memory of martyred women leader Begum Ivy Rahman in the infernal grenade attack on August 21 at 8 a.m. at Banani Cemetery. Apart from this, under the initiative of Manikganj, Narsingdi, and Gazipur District Krishak League, the Krishak League will hold black badges, plant trees, hold discussions, and distribute clothes and food among orphans in their respective districts. The fishermen’s league will discuss mourning day on the same day.

Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo League will distribute milad, doa mahfil, and food items in memory of the martyrs who died on August 25, 25, and 21. Besides, the Central Jubo League will conduct a tree plantation program from 25 to 31 August at district, metropolitan, upazila, thana, municipality, union, and ward levels.

On August 26, Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League will distribute Milad, Doa Mahfil, and food items in memory of martyrs who died on August 15 and 21. Discussion meeting Awami Matsyajeevi League on the occasion of National Mourning Day on this day.

On the occasion of the death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on August 27, Awami League and its affiliates paid tribute at the poet’s tomb at Dhaka University Mosque premises at 8 a.m. Apart from this, the Bangladesh Chhatra League will organize a tribute on the 49th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and a music poem and story reading entitled ‘Ever Elevated Shir: Nazrul to Bangabandhu, Bangabandhu to Deshratan Sheikh Hasina’.

The Jatiya Sramik League will organize a mourning day discussion meeting on August 29 at 3 pm.

The Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day at the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tejgaon at 3 pm on August 30. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the event as the chief guests.

Bangladesh Farmers League will hold a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day at its central office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue on August 31.

Besides, on the occasion of National Mourning Day, the Bangladesh Chhatra League will organize a rally titled ‘Lakshya Mujib Ghar Ghar’ at the historical Suhrawardy Udyan in commemoration of August, the month of eternal mourning of Bengal.

The press release also informed that the date, venue, and time of the month-long program may change, which will be intimated to the media in due course.
