Dhaka Bureau: Awami League central executive meeting on Friday. This is likely to be the last meeting of the current committee before the party’s 22nd national conference in December. Party activists and analysts believe that several important decisions including setting the date of the next conference can come from this meeting. Various sub-committees may be formed for conference preparation.
Apart from this, the schedule of the conference of Dhaka Metropolitan North-South Awami League and expired affiliates and fraternal organizations may also be finalized in the meeting. Besides, there will be a detailed discussion on the strategies of the opposition and their own programs before the 12th National Assembly elections.
In the meeting, if the party president Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gives permission, the divisional responsible leaders will present the overall situation of the organization up to the grassroots including the division and district-upzilla. They will seek guidance on various matters. Besides, there will be a detailed discussion about the current socio-economic situation of the country. The party president will give guidance to the leaders and workers about how the global crisis caused by Corona and war will affect the country and what to do about it. Besides, Awami League’s day-based program will be finalized in the party’s Executive Parliament meeting throughout November and December. The meeting will begin at 4 pm at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister. Leaders invited to the meeting have already been given a letter to attend the Ganobhaban following the hygiene rules. According to party sources, there are basically 11 issues in the written agenda of this meeting. Among these are – condolence reading, November 3 Jail Murder Day, November 10 Martyr Nur Hossain Day, November 27 Martyr Dr. Reunion Day, December 5 death anniversary of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, December 14 Martyr Intellectuals Day, December 16 Great Victory Day, Awami League National Council 2022, socio-economic situation of the country, organizational activities and miscellaneous.
