Prime Minister’s public meeting in Rajshahi today

Rajshahi Correspondent: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Rajshahi today Sunday with the message of development in order to win the 12th National Assembly elections. In the year of the 11th National Assembly elections, he also addressed the public meeting at the historic madrasa grounds of Rajshahi as the chief guest. This time too, after five long years, Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is going to pray for votes with the message of development in the Rajshahi metropolis near Padma river. Today, the target has been taken to turn the Prime Minister’s election rally into a sea of people by gathering 5 to 7 lakh people at the historic madrasa grounds. Prime Minister will inaugurate 25 development projects and lay foundation stone of six development projects in Rajshahi district and metropolis today.

Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina is attending a public meeting for the first time in the new year after the 22nd National Conference of Awami League. Earlier on February 22, 2018, Sheikh Hasina asked the crowd to vote for the victory of the boat in the public meeting organized by the district and metropolitan Awami League at this historic Madrasa Maidan in Rajshahi. Besides, he attended Awami League public meeting in Bagmara, Rajshahi on September 5, 2013 and Charghat on February 8, 2014. On September 14, 2017, the Awami League president appeared in a large public meeting in Rajshahi, Haryana. It was decided to hold a public meeting in Rajshahi in the presidium meeting of Awami League at the Prime Minister’s Ganabhaban on December 26. The day before the public meeting, Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton told reporters, “All the preparations for the public meeting have been completed. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to Rajshahi after five years. We would like to thank the Prime Minister from the public meeting for the development in Rajshahi city, district and surrounding districts in these five years. Bangladesh will go further under the leadership of the Prime Minister. We hope that there will be a crowd of 5 to 7 lakh people at the Prime Minister’s rally in Rajshahi.

The city of Padmapar is decorated with colorful decorations around the arrival of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Sarada Police Academy and attend police training closing parade in the morning before attending public meeting in Rajshahi. Later, after inaugurating various development projects, he will address the chief guest on the occasion of the parliamentary elections in a public meeting at the historic madrasa grounds of Rajshahi in the afternoon. There is festive mood across the department around the Prime Minister’s arrival.

10 sub-committees have been formed in districts and cities to make the Prime Minister’s rally a success. With the coordination of these sub-committees, campaigning has started since the last 15 days at district and upazila level in addition to Rajshahi metropolis from morning to evening. Rajshahi metropolis and district Awami League, affiliated organizations and fraternal organizations are organizing campaign marches, public relations, handbill delivery, preparatory meetings. Banners, festoons, pylons depicting the development of the current government are being decorated throughout the city including important points of Rajshahi district. Maybe this will be the last public meeting in Rajshahi soil with the participation of the Awami League president before the next national elections.

The projects that the Prime Minister will inaugurate today in Rajshahi are, 1. Mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 2. Sheikh Russell Shishu Park, 3. Flyover at Mohanpur Rail Crossing, 4. Four lane road and road divider up to Bhadra Mor Rail Crossing-Nodapara Bus Terminal, 5. Four lane road and road divider from Bundgate to City Hut, 6. Carpeting road from Rentur Khari Road to Dhallur Junction via Hitech Park, drains and footpaths and carpeting road from Court to West Suburban Club, 7. Four lane road from Alupatti to Talaimari Junction, 8. Puthia-Bagmara Highway, 9. Upward expansion work from the 6th floor to the 10th floor of the head office of Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank, 10. A total of 25 projects including Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Headquarters.
