Dhaka Bureau: To increase the speed and scope of the simultaneous anti-government movement, 12 like-minded parties of BNP have broken the 20-party alliance and formed a ’12-party alliance’. The alliance made its debut through a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday (December 22) morning.
12 parties are in this alliance – Jatiya Party (Zafar) led by Mustafa Jamal Haider, Bangladesh Welfare Party led by Major General (Retd.) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Birpratik, Bangladesh Labor Party led by Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Irani, Bangladesh National Party led by Syed Ehsanul Huda, NDP led by KM Abu Taher, LDP (single) led by Shahadat Hossain Selim, Bangladesh Muslim League led by Advocate Zulfikar Bulbul Chowdhury, Jamiat Ulamae Islam led by Mufti Mohiuddin Ikram, Maulana Abdur Islami Oikyazot led by Rakib, Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal led by Nurul Islam, Bangladesh Islamic Party led by Advocate Abul Kasem, Jatiya Gontantric Party (JAGPA, Ekans) led by Barrister Tasmia Pradhan. Several leaders of the alliance said that 12 political parties have united to speed up the simultaneous movement.
