Dhaka Bureau: The police chased away the BNP activists who were chanting slogans at the Nightingale intersection of Kakrail in the capital. A few explosions were heard at this time. This incident happened on Thursday (December 8) around 4:30.
The police chased the activists from Nightingale Junction to Paltan Junction. At this time, the shopkeepers also closed the shops on both sides of the road in bijayanagar.
After the clash with the BNP leaders and activists on Wednesday, the police have taken position in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan. Nayapaltan road has been closed since Thursday morning. No one is allowed to cross Nightingale Junction. About 500 people have been arrested in connection with the clash and three cases have been registered by the police in Paltan, Motijheel and Shahjahanpur police stations against more than 3,000 activists.
