The war to bring back democracy to the country by overthrowing the government has begun: Fakhrul

Sylhet Bureau: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, you have embarked on a new war. This war is a war of liberation. This war is a war to get back one’s rights. This war is a war to get back your right to vote. The way Shahjalal (RA) created a new history in Sylhet by fighting, a new war started from your Sylhet. This war is a war to overthrow the Sheikh Hasina government and bring democracy back to the country.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the BNP rally organized in Sylhet on Saturday (November 19) to demand the increase in prices of daily commodities and the permanent release of party chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir addressed the people of Sylhet in the mass meeting organized at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa under the chairmanship of District BNP President Abdul Qayyum that the resignation of the current tyrannical government Sheikh Hasina. He said, I call upon all the political parties from this rally to unite and form a movement against the current dictatorial government.

Sylhet District BNP General Secretary Emran Ahmad Chowdhury and Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Miftah Siddiqui gave a welcome address to the gathering which was started by President of Mahanagar Mahila Dal Roksana Begum Shahnaz. Before this, the gathering started at 11:30 am with Quran recitation and prayer.

Later local and central leaders gave speeches. The speakers in the mass meeting also said that the current government has destroyed this country. This government must be overthrown to save the country. This fascist government must be overthrown through a united movement. Otherwise, there is no freedom for the country and the people.

The speakers said that today’s rally proves that the people of the country do not have confidence in the government. In today’s gathering, we all have the same ‘talk about which way the country will go, the decision will be on the road’.
