Dhaka Bureau: During the ‘Global MBB Forum 2022’ David Wang, Executive Director of the Board of Huawei and Chairman of the ICT Infrastructure Managing Board gave a keynote speech titled ‘Stride to 5.5G: The Foundation of the Future’. In his speech, David Wang discussed how the sector has made significant progress through concerted efforts and preparations to make the best use of 5.5G technology. To achieve this milestone, all the stakeholders in this sector need to prepare themselves, so that they can advance rapidly in the era of 5.5G technology and build a developed and intelligent world with the collective efforts of all.
The intelligent world is moving at a fast pace, the changes we are currently experiencing are all aligned with the growing demand for digital infrastructure. Our next milestone in the intelligent world will surely be delivering 10Gbit/s experience through 5.5G technology, which will support numerous connections and help achieve native intelligence.
At the event, Wang emphasized that after two years of concerted efforts in this field, great progress has been made in 5.5G technology and three points are clear. First, the standardization of 5.5G technology has begun and is on the right track, making it an exception to the general vision. Second, the sector has made advances in core technologies for 5.5G technology, and ultra-large bandwidth and ELAA are now able to offer 10 Gbit/s experiences. Third, the sector has a clear vision for the IoT landscape. 5.5G Technologies Supported (NB-IoT, Redcap and Passive IoT) Three types of 5.5G technologies are developing rapidly and are supporting a large number of IoT connections.
David Wang also said in this regard, “The communication sector is continuously evolving. The development of 5.5G technology is progressing rapidly. We have five new sectors to work on in the coming days. These are: Standard, Spectrum, Product, Ecosystem and Application. Together we can build a smarter and smarter world by moving towards 5.5G.”
