They are busy with rumors and conspiracies. But the people of this country want boats again for development. They will not accept stomach-poisoning grains of rice.

He said these things in a joint meeting with the editorial board of Awami League along with the presidents and general secretaries of affiliated organizations of Dhaka Metropolitan North-South and Awami League at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital today, Wednesday (July 5). Obaidul Quader said that rumors, rumors, and conspiracies are being used to make the election arena increasingly controversial. They are inciting conflict. Right now, BNP and their like-minded parties are not going to the voters; they are going to foreigners.
They are immersed in the dream of complaining when a representative will come, ban Bangladesh, and give a visa policy. The complaint is not to the people but to foreigners. The Awami League general secretary said, Foreigners are our friends. There is no mastery here. BNP has many master’s degrees abroad. Complaining to masters, not friends.
The bridge minister said that the constitution has fixed the elections. Regarding the amendment of the Election Commission’s Representation of the People Act (RPO), the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said that the amendment of the RPO is reasonable. If there is chaos and the polling of 1/2 of the center can be canceled, why will the entire election be canceled? It is clearly stated in this Act. The situation is the same in other parts of the world.
Why should Bangladesh be introduced differently? In response to a question from journalists, Obaidul Quader said that foreign friends should be friends. The BNP has gone mad for power. Power must be gained anyway. If the Awami League loses, the election will be fair only in the BNP’s view. The Awami League General Secretary said that elections mean chaos, fake votes, and polling station capture; these propagandas were not reflected in the recently held local government elections.
From that side, I can see the light of hope around the election in Bangladesh. Obaidul Quader said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has modernized and democratized the electoral system of Bangladesh. The big proof of that is the establishment of the Independent Election Commission by law. Those who question, spread rumors, and conspire about the election system should learn from this reality. Elections and electoral systems in other democratic countries around the world need to be observed.
The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said that the city corporation elections were conducted in a peaceful atmosphere, were fair, and were free. The next national election will also be completed in this way. The government will not interfere here. Sheikh Hasina’s government will perform routine duties. Quader said that the Awami League will not go beyond the constitution, even if it is out of power.
The joint general secretary of the Awami League, Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, Afam Bahauddin Nashim, and members of the editorial board, along with the president and general secretaries of the Dhaka Metropolitan North-South Awami League and affiliated organizations, were present in the joint meeting.
