Dhaka Bureau: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam is extremely unhappy with the BNP as the arrest and death sentence of the top leaders in the war crime case have remained silent. And the BNP is avoiding Jamaat due to domestic and foreign pressure. However, Jamaat has announced that it will stand by the BNP in the simultaneous anti-government movement before the next parliamentary elections. With this, BNP and Jamaat have started a new court and discussion. As part of this, Jamaat wants to show its strength again. For this reason, they prepared for a huge rally in Dhaka on Monday. But the party retreated due to police action. However, they want to have a big showdown on June 10, Saturday afternoon. They have made extensive preparations for this. Several close sources in Jamaat have given this information.

It is known that after the issue of war crimes, the leaders and activists of the party were on the streets to protest against the government. After hiding for a long time, they are looking for an opportunity to come out into the open. Before the elections, they want to make their position known to their old ally, the BNP. A part of it wants to keep in touch with the government as a strategy.

According to sources, after 2018, the distance between BNP and Jamaat became clear. Maulana Abdul Halim, assistant secretary general of the Jamaat, is seen taking part in the alliance meeting with the BNP. A lot of pressure was created within the BNP to keep the Jamaat out of the alliance. However, as election time approaches, a section of the BNP is working to unite all the opponents of the Awami League. After receiving the green signal from London, several leaders of Jamaat recently held a meeting with two senior, responsible leaders of the BNP. In the meeting, it was decided to strengthen the anti-government program from their respective positions.

In this regard, Jamaat Naib Amir Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said the BNP and Jamaat are in mutual communication. Both parties are communicating.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Jamaat central executive council member and campaign secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand claimed in a press conference that after announcing the program of the simultaneous movement, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman had been arrested. Naib Amir Maulana A.N. Shamsul Islam, Secretary General Prof. Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Council member and Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North Salim Uddin, Shahjahan Chowdhury, member of Shura in Central Majlis, and numerous leaders and activists are now detained in jail. He demanded their release.

Claiming Jamaat to be the third largest political party in the country, Motiur Rahman Akand said that his party wants to organize a new protest rally and procession at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque in the capital on Saturday, June 10, with the aim of fair elections under the caretaker government, the release of leaders, and control of rising commodity prices. For this reason, permission was sought from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police in an email on Monday afternoon.
