Own Correspondent: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)’s Chuadanga Battalion arrested a currency trader with 1,43,100 US dollars and 10,000 Euros from Darshana ICP. He was arrested at the ICP check post coming from India to Bangladesh this Saturday (June 03) morning. The name of the arrested international currency trader is Sheikh Tapan (26).
BGB’s Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB) on the basis of its own intelligence information will illegally smuggle foreign currency from India to Bangladesh through Darshana ICP. Based on the information received, Chuadanga Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Syed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman, PSC led the Darshana ICP Camp Commander Naib Subedar Md. Abdul Jalil along with the force and stayed at the check post.
Passenger Sheikh Tapan (26) who came from India to Bangladesh in the morning, father- Sheikh Jalal Uddin, address as per national identity card- Jatrabari, Bhangapres, Matuail, Dhaka-1362 and permanent address- Village-Munshiganj, Post-Tungibari, Thana- Munshiganj , district-Munshiganj trolley bags were searched and were able to recover 1,43,100 US dollars and 10 thousand euros illegally kept inside the body of the trolley bag.
In this regard, Naib Subedar Md. Abdul Jalil has filed a case against the arrested person in Darshana police station and depositing the recovered foreign currency in Chuadanga Treasury office is in process.
