International Desk: The groom and his brother were killed when a music system given by an ex-boyfriend as a wedding gift exploded in India’s Chhattisgarh. Apart from this, four others, including children and women, were injured.
Indian media outlets NDTV and The Times of India published the news on Wednesday, April 5. Earlier on Tuesday, the police arrested the ex-boyfriend in this incident. Investigating the explosion, Kabirdham district police said that the person who sent the bomb gift was the lover of the newly married woman. His name is Sarju.
The deceased groom’s name is Himandra Merai. They got married on April 1. He received a home theater music system as a wedding present. Last Monday, when this gift was connected to electricity, there was a loud explosion. Himandra was killed on the spot. His brother died while undergoing treatment. In this incident, the wall of the house collapsed and four others, including women and children, were injured.
Kabirdham SP Manish Thakur said that Sarju admitted that he sent the gift along with explosives because he was angry because his lover got married elsewhere.
