Dhaka Bureau: Urging Awami League leaders and activists to remain united, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, ‘There is no united party in Bangladesh that can defeat a united Awami League. The Awami League must remain united in any situation.
He said these things in a joint meeting with the central leaders of the party at the Awami League office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Wednesday (March 15) afternoon and with the leaders of Dhaka Metropolitan and affiliated organizations.
The general secretary of the Awami League said that a leader of the BNP went to steal the ballot in the Supreme Court bar election. They have been doing this secretly for the last 10 years. Now they have been caught. He said, ‘BNP is the king of vote theft, Maharaja BNP.’
Quader said, “After failing to steal the ballot, they attacked the court in a militant manner since morning.” They are attacking again and again to stop the vote.
Addressing BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Obaidul Quader said, ‘Who made 1 crore, 23 lakh fake voters? Do not accuse the Awami League of stealing votes. The king of vote theft, Maharaja BNP
Pointing out that the election will be held in the last week of December this year or the first week of January next year, he said, “As such, the election is not far off.” Elections are our main concern. Mirza Fakhrul Islam said the Awami League will be responsible if something bad happens in the election. That means the BNP wants to do something bad. They conspired again. They want to do arson like in 2013–14. It’s not 13-14; it’s 2023; remember that. There is no use in fearing that something bad will happen in the election.
A member of the Awami League presidium was also present at the meeting. Abdur Razzak, Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Kamrul Islam, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nashim, and other top leaders of central, Dhaka metropolitan, and allied organizations
