Railways launch a new ticketing system to combat the black market

Dhaka Bureau: Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has inaugurated the new ticketing system of “Ticket Jhar, Bharghar Thar” with the National Identity Card (NID) in railways to prevent the black market in the sale of train tickets.

He inaugurated the new system of buying tickets at the capital’s Kamalapur railway station at 8 a.m. on Wednesday (March 1).

In the morning, the minister visited the Kamalapur railway station and told the reporters that the ticket should be issued through NID.Furthermore, it must be kept while traveling.If the information on the ticket does not match with the verified NID, the passenger will be treated as invalid. It went into effect this morning.

The minister also stated that the railways’ decision is intended to prevent the black market for tickets.More initiatives will be taken gradually to build a smart Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Railway has made it mandatory to show a national identity card to travel by buying train tickets from 8 a.m. today. At the same time, POS machines were added to the railroad fleet to bring clarity in this regard.
