Prime Minister has turned Ganobhaban into a “farmhouse.”

Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not stop calling on the people of the country to cultivate every inch of land to deal with the global food crisis. He himself utilized every inch of unused land in his official residence, Ganabhaban. It’s a rare example of the Gerast House in the village transforming the entire public building into something resembling a farmhouse.

Sheikh Hasina is cultivating different types of rice, vegetables, flowers, fruits, honey, and fish in the huge yard of Ganabhaban. He also grew onions such as sesame and mustard.

According to Ganabhaban sources, almost half of the total cultivated land has been harvested as of Sunday. It produced 46 m.More than 50 metric tons of onions will be available in the rest of the country, the concerned official said.

The current market price of desi onions is 35 to 40 taka per kg. In this, the price of 46 maunds of onion yielded in Ganabhaban comes to approximately 65 thousand to 73 thousand taka. If a middle-class family of five needs 5 kg of onions per month, about 100 tons of onions produced in Ganabhaban will meet the onion needs of 7-8 families for 1 month.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has emphasized increasing food production in almost every speech since the corona epidemic, Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions erupted in the turbulent world as a result of the corona epidemic, Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions.He has been calling for bringing every inch of land under cultivation in all government, private, and party events.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told the media that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been urging the people of the country to grow crops on every inch of land to deal with the global food crisis. In continuation of this, he himself brought every inch of the fallen land of Ganabhaban Angina under production and set a unique example by making his call to the people a reality.

The press secretary said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who grew up in the light and air of this country, is used to living a normal life. His soul is inextricably linked to the soil people of the country, agriculture.The cultivation of various types of crops in this crop yard of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Ganabhaban is a small example of that.

Ihsanul Karim said that the issue of planting every inch of land was inspired by the call of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, for the green revolution in 1974.

According to sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina planted various types of rice, including bamboo, Polao rice, and red rice, in the Ganabhaban courtyard; they are cultivating almost all types of winter vegetables, including cauliflower, cabbage, red cabbage, spinach, coriander, the popular Batua vegetable of rural Bengal, broccoli, tomato, gourd, and beans.

Apart from that, by keeping sesame, mustard, beehives in the mustard field in Ganabhaban, honey, turmeric, pepper, onion, bay leaf, and various spices; Fruits such as mango, jackfruit, banana, litchi, plum, dragon fruit, and strawberry;The Prime Minister is also cultivating different types of flowers, including roses, sunflowers, marigolds, and black cherries. According to Ganabhaban officials, he will supervise these when he retires.

Organic manure produced from cow farm dung is used in Ganobhaban for growing these crops.

In addition, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set up a cow farm, domestic hummingbird, tithir, Chinese duck, swan, and pigeon farm in the courtyard of Ganabhaban. He is cultivating various species of fish, including roe catal, tilapia, and chital, in Ganabhavan Pond. Even Sheikh Hasina is cultivating pearls in Ganobhaban Pond. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing at Ganabhavan Lake.

According to Ganabhaban sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina distributed these daily necessities among the Ganabhaban employees and the poor and helpless people, keeping a little for herself.
