Dhaka Bureau: In exchange for money and to create a circle of special individuals, the traditional Chhatra League is giving the benefit of infiltrating the children of anti-independence activists, including Razakar-Al-Badr-Al-Shams. Since the Awami League has been in power for three consecutive terms since 2009, the pets of anti-independence activists who have infiltrated various level committees of the Chhatra League across the country, including the country’s universities, have been involved in a variety of misdeeds. There is no criminal activity that they are not doing, including robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and ransom. Even in different universities, they have traditionally made “torture cells.” Where anyone is arrested and detained in a brutal medieval manner, there are also incidents of torture.
A student of Islami University (EB) was stripped and tortured in Kushtia; four people were beaten overnight in the dormitory of Chittagong Medical College (CHAMEC) and sent to the ICU of the hospital; a student of Rajshahi University (RABI) was locked in a room and beaten up; a youth was unconscious at Jahangirnagar University (JABI) and embezzled money; Rajshahi Engineering College (REC) The incidents of abducting a student of the University of Technology (RUET) and extorting money, beating up a couple in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan and robbing them of gold ornaments, and blocking a covered van in the Dhaka University (DU) area and extorting money from some leaders and activists of the Chhatra League are now being discussed across the country.
Some current and former leaders of Awami League’s fraternal organization, Chhatra League, told the media, “You cannot become a Chhatra League.” The Chatra League should run in the family. Those who have been or are currently involved in BCL politics cannot be involved in such activities. The perpetrators of these heinous crimes are Razakar-Al-Badr-Al-Shams, one of the children of anti-independence activists who have infiltrated various level committees of the BCL in exchange for money and deception. However, this Chhatra League was the vanguard of all democratic movements and struggles in the country.
Not only in BCL, but in the last 13 years, the pets of the anti-independence movement have infiltrated the district-upzilla-union committees of the ruling Awami League. Not only did they enter the Awami League, but they also got important positions in exchange for huge money. These “Hybrid Awami League” leaders have also become owners of huge wealth through various irregularities and corruption in the last 13 years. And with a part of this money, they have taken over the local administration. There is no level of administration and law enforcement that they do not reach. Due to this, they are carrying out looting-corruption crimes uninterruptedly.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament and Chairman of the Jatiya Party (Japa) GM Quader said at a party function on Tuesday that “some famous businessmen are looting the country with the help of political patronage and bureaucracy.”In fact, they have no business, but they are earning thousands of rupees. Some of these looters were also made MPs. The big robbers are walking around with garlands around their necks, dressed as big patriots.
Girls are also on the list of terrible abusers, along with the boys who have infiltrated the Chhatra League. A first-year student of Kushtia Islamic University (EB) was detained and subjected to inhumane torture for four and a half hours on Sunday night. This torture was led by Sanjida Chowdhury Antara, the vice president of the university branch of the Chhatra League. The horrific description of the torture given by the victim of the incident will make anyone shudder. Narrating the incident, the student told the media, “Some of them kicked her all over the body, slapped her, slapped her hard on her chest, and inserted a needle in her palm.” At one point, the victimized student was stripped and recorded a video on her mobile phone. The abusers also threaten the victim that the video will be spread on Facebook if the incident is reported to anyone outside.
Just four days before this incident, on February 8, some leaders and activists of the college branch Chhatra League detained four students in the so-called “torture cell” in the main dormitory of Chittagong Medical College (Chamek) and sent them to the ICU. Tortured students have described the torture in written complaints, saying, “They were kept in the room and beaten with stumps, rods, and plastic pipes throughout the night.” Water is poured into the nose and mouth until breathing is no longer possible.Killing-punching-kicking-slap-slap goes along.’ The oppressive gang also ruled that if anyone reported the incident, they would be sent from the hospital to the morgue.
A student of Rajshahi University’s (Rabi) Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall was accused of physical and mental torture by locking him in a room of the hall on Sunday night. Apart from the torture, the student was also threatened with death by calling it “campof physical and mental torture by locking him in a room of the hall on Sunday night. Apart from the torture, the student was also threatened with death by calling it “camp.”
However, the Central Chhatra League on Sunday expelled 21 leaders and workers from DU, JAB, Chittagong University (CHBI), RUET, and Govt. Shaheed Suhrawardy College for their involvement in various negative incidents, including robbery, beating, harassment, and blackmail. Besides, the DU branch of the Chhatra League dismissed a leader for being involved in threats and vandalism for donations.
On January 30, when he refused to go after being summoned for subscription, first he threatened him over the phone, and the next day he sent people to vandalize the goods of a water dealer in Bangbazar, the capital.
