Dhaka Bureau: Awami League is meeting today Saturday to determine what to do for the party ahead of the 12th national election, to strengthen politics at the district upazila level, what to do in the global crisis and how to deal with BNP’s anti-government movement.
The pending joint meeting of Awami League’s newly elected National Committee, Central Executive Parliament and Advisory Council will be held at Ganobhaban at 12 noon. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over it.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has requested the members of Awami League National Committee, Central Executive Parliament and Advisory Council to attend the meeting in compliance with proper health protection rules.
Before this, on January 7, a joint meeting of the newly elected National Committee, Central Executive Parliament and Advisory Council of Awami League was held at the Tungipara Upazila office of Gopalganj. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting. The meeting was then adjourned. The joint meeting of Awami League is the first meeting of the new committee formed by the party’s 22nd National Conference on December 24.
Four central leaders of Awami League said that Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will give election guidelines in today’s meeting in view of the 12th national parliament elections. He will also give a message about preventing anti-national propaganda, what should be done about the possible movement of the anti-government groups including BNP. In this meeting, what should be done in one year, we will have organizational guidelines to deal with the opposition movement. Responsibilities of the presidium members may be distributed keeping in view the elections in the meeting. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will urge to finish the conference of Trinamool, strengthen the organization and resolve the internal conflict in the national parliament elections.
