The second session of the Awami League conference has started

Dhaka Bureau: The second session of the 22nd National Conference of Bangladesh Awami League has started. According to the constitution, the current committee of the party has been dissolved through the conference.  The second session started on Saturday (December 24) at 3 pm at the capital’s Engineers Institution Auditorium.

Earlier, the conference was inaugurated and the first session started at 10:30 am at the historical Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference by hoisting the national flag.

Party General Secretary Obaidul Quader hoisted the party flag. Besides, the president of all the organizational districts hoisted the national flag and the general secretary hoisted the party flag. Pigeons and balloons were flown as symbols of peace during the inauguration. After this the theme song of the conference was performed.

It is known that about 7 thousand councilors participated in the 22nd National Conference of Awami League. To complete the new leadership selection process, a three-member election commission has been formed with Yusuf Hossain Humayun, a member of the advisory council of Awami League and a senior lawyer, as the chairman. The other two members of the commission are the adviser to the Prime Minister. Moshiur Rahman and Advisory Council member Sahabuddin Chuppu.

Incidentally, Awami League was born on June 23, 1949 in Rose Garden. So far 21 national conferences of the party have been held.
