Dhaka Bureau: The ruling party Awami League is on alert around the BNP rally. On Saturday (December 10), the presence of leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations increased on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
At the same time, Khichuri was seen cooking for the leaders and activists in front of the central office of Awami League. Central leaders have joined with the leaders and activists of the metropolitan Awami League. Besides, the separate positions of the affiliated organizations are worth seeing. All in all, Bangabandhu Avenue seems to have taken shape in the rally.
Meanwhile, 10-15 people including Riaz Uddin, office secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League, were seen rehearsing with 6-7 motorcycles in Paltan and Motijheel areas of the capital since morning.
Besides, local Awami League leaders including former president of Demra Thana Awamig Rafiqul Islam Masud and general secretary Moshiur Rahman Molla Sajal were seen in alert condition at the end of Sultana Kamal Setu in Demra, one of the ways to enter the capital for the people of Mymensingh and Sylhet.
Leaders and activists led by FM Shariful Islam and Harunur Rashid Munna have taken a position at Jatrabari intersection. On the other hand, Jubo League’s procession and position in Gabtali has been seen. It is led by the chairman of the organization Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and general secretary Mainul Hasan Khan Nikhil.
In Mirpur, Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Mahila League president and former MP Sabina Akhter Tuhin led the march and stand.
Meanwhile, different positions of BCL leaders and activists have been seen in different areas of Dhaka University including TSC and Madhur Canteen.
On the other hand, police, RAB and other law and order forces are keeping vigilance at various points and entrances of the capital. People were also seen being searched at various check posts.
BNP’s Dhaka division mass meeting is going on at Golapbagh ground in the capital. The rally spread beyond the Golap Bagh field to Syedabad, Maniknagar, Tttipara and Mugda roads. Meanwhile, the traffic in Dhaka has been stopped due to the mass gathering. As a result, common people are suffering.
