The Crime Desk: The Nationalist Freedom Fighters’ Party was scheduled to hold a ‘Freedom Fighters’ Rally’ in the capital’s Agargaon on Saturday, December 21. BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was also scheduled to participate in it. But the rally has been postponed.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed the matter at a press conference at the chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Thursday (December 19).
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Khaleda Zia has been ill since Tuesday night. For this reason, the Freedom Fighters’ Rally on December 21 has been postponed as per the advice of doctors.
Besides, Muktijoddha Dal’s central president, Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, also confirmed the same to the media.
He said, ‘Madam Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is not suitable for attending the rally. The rally has been postponed as Madam will not be able to go. She is scheduled to go abroad for better treatment. This rally will be held when she returns from abroad. And I hope Madam will be there.’
Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson’s personal physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, said that Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment at her Gulshan residence under close observation of doctors. Due to illness, the issue of going abroad has been postponed.
Khaleda Zia is preparing to go to London and then the United States this month for better treatment. At the same time, she is also scheduled to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, visa work has been completed in the passport to go to the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
