International Desk: After the brutal murder of Shraddha Walker in Delhi, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has received information about a new mysterious murder. A woman named Poonam has been arrested by the police on the charge of murdering her husband. The murder is similar to how 28-year-old Aftab Poonawala killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walker.
According to the police, Poonam had been suspecting that her husband was having an extra-marital affair for a long time. After killing her husband with the help of her son on suspicion, she cut the body into 22 pieces and stored it in a refrigerator. He then dumped the body parts in several areas of East Delhi.
Police first found the body parts in Pandav Nagar in June and registered a murder case. However, the investigation did not proceed as the body parts were decomposed. Earlier this month when the gruesome details of Shraddha’s murder case started to emerge, it was also investigated whether the unidentified body parts were Shraddha’s or not.
During the investigation, the crime branch scanned the CCTV footage of the area where the body parts were found. The footage shows Poonam and her son visiting the area of Pandav Nagar for several nights.
After a thorough investigation, the police learned that Anjan Das, a resident of East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar, had been missing for nearly six months. But his family did not file any complaint with the police.
According to the police, the accused Poonam and Deepak killed Anjan Das in June. First he was given sleeping pills and after being knocked unconscious he was killed.
In the CCTV footage, Deepak is seen walking with a bag in his hand late at night. According to the police, Deepak was walking at night to throw away the body parts. Another footage from the day shows Poonam following him. They turned around several times to slowly drop the pieces of the body.
