Correspondent: Former MP Zahir Uddin Swapan, convenor of BNP’s media cell, said that BNP wants to establish a national government and a bicameral parliament after the elections given by BNP acting chairman Tariq Rahman so that no one can establish one-party rule in the country.
He said these things in the president’s speech at an exchange meeting with prominent people at Chittagong Club on Friday (October 28) at 3 pm. BNP’s media cell organized a meeting on ‘Free, fair and impartial elections followed by a national government and a bicameral parliament are essential for the formation of a responsible state’.
He also said that it is the need of the hour to build an accountable state in the formation of a humane state. For this, it is possible to remove the Awami League government and hold free and fair elections under a non-partisan government and implement the idea of a bicameral parliamentary system.
Zahir Uddin Swapan said, BNP wants not only a change of power, but a qualitative change in the state structure. With the aim of returning the ownership of the state to the people and establishing the slogans of the liberation war, democracy, equality, human dignity and social justice, BNP is planning to reform the country in the light of vision-2030 announced by former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. That is why Tariq Rahman has presented a roadmap for the formation of an anti-fascist national government after the elections with all democratic parties and forces and the establishment of a bicameral legislature representing all levels of the people.
In the meeting, the distinguished people agreed to form a national government after the election and to form a bicameral parliament to reform the existing state system and give various suggestions.
Former MP Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Member Secretary of BNP Media Cell, presented the main article in the exchange meeting moderated by Media Cell member Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin.
In the main article, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, hundreds of children of brothers, friends and colleagues are searching for their father with tears in their eyes, asking whether my father is alive or dead? The cry of a young child for a missing father or brother proves the horror of the ongoing fascist regime that has axed the state power of the country without a vote for years.
He said that secret disappearance centers and torture cells have been built under the supervision of intelligence forces to prolong the power of voting by taking away the voting rights of people in the country.
He said that as part of the state transformation programme, the BNP has promised to take action on several important issues to win a free, fair, impartial, acceptable and participatory election with the aim of reforming the state and administrative structures destroyed by the current authoritarian government.
Barrister Rumin Farhana MP, a member of media cell, said that if BNP comes to power, there will be a big party and the government will be formed with talented and wise people from the smaller party. There are many small and big parties in the country. The leaders of these parties or parties are not known to the general public, but are talented and wise. If BNP comes to power, they will form the national government.
Claiming that BNP will get 290 seats out of 300 seats if the elections are fair, Rumin Farhana said that in the last 15 years, the state has been taken to a place where the legal department, judicial department, executive department and other institutions of the state are not able to work independently. A state of major repair is required. As BNP believes in partnership, many views, many people, so if BNP comes to power they will form a national government.
He said, BNP thinks that it will not be appropriate for BNP to repair the damage that has been done to the state in the last 15 years. Although BNP can do it if it wants. But don’t. Because BNP believes in multi-party system. For this we are moving forward with the concept of national government.
