Dhaka Bureau: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter D. Haas has gone to the Banani office to meet with the Jatiya Party. He entered the office around 3 p.m. on Monday (November 13).
It is known that Peter Haas will talk with the Jatiya Party about the upcoming national elections and the overall situation related to them. High-level leaders of the Jatiya Party will be present at the meeting. Meanwhile, Peter Haas recently visited India. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken attended the meeting between the United States and India there.
US Minister Lloyd Austin, India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and Minister Rajnath Singh were present at the meeting held in New Delhi, India.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, there is a lot of discussion about the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh. India and the US want to see political stability and a democratic government in the country.
The report also says that the United States repeatedly says that they want to see a free and fair election in Bangladesh, but the country fears that it may be hindered by Chinese interference.
