Own Correspondent: The 22-day government ban on hilsa hunting ends today. Today, Friday (October 28), fishermen will start fishing in the sea and river from midnight.
It is known that the fishermen have already completed all preparations to go to the sea. Earlier, the government had imposed a ban on fishing in seas and rivers from October 7 to October 28 of this month due to the main breeding season of hilsa. Fishermen are happy that they can return to their profession again after 22 consecutive days.
Many fishermen resorted to borrowing during the ban as they had no alternative employment. They are hopeful that they will be able to repay the loan if the desired hilsa is caught in the net. However, the origin and torture of Indian fishermen has become a thorn in the neck of fishermen. They entered the waters of Bangladesh and hunted fish. Therefore, the fishermen have urged to increase the patrol of the navy to save themselves from this torture.
It can be seen that the fishermen are preparing to go to the sea. So now you are having a busy time. Some are fixing nets and some are repairing boats. At midnight, you will go down to the sea for fishing.
The fishermen said that the ban is ending today. I can go down to catch hilsa at night. The wheel of our world will turn again. Everything is in the last stage of preparation to go to the sea.
Golam Mostafa Chowdhury, President of Bangladesh Fishery Trawler Owners Association, said that if the Indian fishermen are not suppressed in the same way that the RAB has eradicated pirates from the Sundarbans and the Bay of Bengal, the fishermen will die of starvation. Indian fishermen will not be able to enter the country’s territorial waters if the navy has a permanent camp near the western bay of the Bay of Bengal. Therefore, I strongly demand the government to make a permanent camp of the navy near the western bay.
