Dhaka Bureau: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is sometimes improving, sometimes worsening. He is currently under treatment in the hospital on the advice of doctors. He was taken from the cabin to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as his health deteriorated again. He was shifted to CCU around 2 a.m. on Monday (September 18).
BNP Chairperson’s media wing sources confirmed the matter. Earlier, on Sunday night, Khaleda Zia was admitted to the CCU in a meeting of the medical board consisting of local and foreign doctors to review her latest physical condition. Khaleda Zia has been under treatment in the hospital for more than a month. On the night of August 9, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital for a health examination. Since then, he has been under treatment in the hospital.
Now his liver, heart, and kidney problems are in critical condition, doctors said. Earlier, on November 28, 2021, Khaleda Zia’s medical board informed the press conference that she was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver. Since then, he has had several bleeds in the digestive system in about two years.
A senior member of the BNP leader’s medical board said that due to liver cirrhosis, Khaleda Zia’s digestive system had shrunk and almost lost its function. In this situation, complications have increased in his liver, and he has to be at risk of bleeding.
