Before this, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina sat in a meeting with the leaders of the alliance on March 15, 2022. The meeting with the Awami League chief took place almost three years after coming to power for the third consecutive term through the 2018 elections.

From that meeting, Sheikh Hasina decided to participate in the twelfth parliamentary election as a continuation of the previous three national elections. After 16 long months of that meeting, the next meeting with the top leaders of 14 parties is going to be held today. Sources said, in this meeting held after 16 months, the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections and the techniques to solve the crisis caused by the elections will be discussed.

Besides, the meeting will decide what to do to counter the one-stage movement of the BNP and its allies to bring down the government. Along with this, Sheikh Hasina will also talk to the partner leaders about strengthening the alliance activities to deal with the existing situation and various crises in the country.
