Dhaka Bureau: Sirajul Alam Khan, the mysterious man of Bangladesh politics and the founder of the secret organization ‘Nucleus,” formed in 1962 with the aim of forming the ‘national state’ of Bangladesh, has a critical physical condition.
He was taken on life support in the ICU of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday (June 8). The Director of DMK Hospital, Brigadier General Nazmul Haque, said his condition is critical. He is suffering from various problems related to old age, including breathing problems.
He also said that until now he had been treated in the ICU. Day by day, his physical condition is deteriorating. Sometimes a fever rises in the body. We are trying our best. His family has asked for prayers from the people of the country.
On the night of May 7, Sirajul Alam Khan was admitted to Samrita Hospital in Panthpath with a respiratory illness. After that, he was transferred to DMK Hospital on May 20 on the advice of doctors. This 82-year-old politician has been suffering from various physical complications, including high blood pressure, for many days.
Incidentally, the ‘nucleus’ formed by Sirajul Alam Khan is also known as ‘Swadan Bangla Biplappi Parishad’. Besides, he was the mastermind behind the formation of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasad and the mass uprising of Sepahi Janata. He was the main initiator of building a nucleus inside the Chhatra League in 1962 with the aim of establishing an independent national state of Bengalis by developing the Bengali nationalist spirit. Then he conducted all activities through this nucleus until the end of the liberation war.
Sirajul Alam Khan played a historic role in shaping public opinion in support of six points. Agartala played a major role in involving the students and workers in the movement demanding the cancellation of the conspiracy case, the release of Bangabandhu, and the popular upheaval of the 1970s. He is known as a “political theoretic personality” at home and abroad. His long political life of 51 years is colorful.
