Bijan Kumar Biswas, Chakria (Cox’s Bazar) Correspondent: The main killer of Azizur Rahman (Aziz), who was stabbed to death by an employee of the prawn enclosure in Chakria, Cox’s Bazar, has been arrested by the police. He was arrested from Palakata area of Chiringa Union of the upazila around 9:30 pm on Wednesday. The arrested killer Ishaq is the son of deceased Kabir Ahmed of that union.
According to local and police sources, Azizur Rahman, a shrimper, was stabbed to death in a trivial incident on Tuesday (02-04-23) around 8:30 pm in the south of Sholhichcha in Dulahajara union of the upazila. Soon after the incident, the killer Ishaq managed to escape. After this murder, several teams of the police started an operation to arrest the main killer Ishaq. On Wednesday night around 9:30 pm, the police conducted an operation based on secret information and with the help of local UP chairman Jamal Hossain Chowdhury, the police were able to arrest him from Palakata area. According to the police, he is a fugitive accused under the warrant of 12 cases against the arrested Ishahak, including life sentence.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chakaria police station Chandan Kumar Chakraborty has confirmed the arrest of Ishaq, the mastermind behind the killing of Aziz, an employee of the shrimp enclosure. He said that the arrested accused was sent to the court on Thursday.
