Khagrachari Correspondent: The body of a person was found lying on the side of the road in Dighinala Upazila of Khagrachari hill district. The deceased’s name is Rahul Karmakar (33). He is the son of deceased Tapan Karmakar of Sudhir Memberpara village of upazila. Relatives in the family have been accused of premeditated murder. Today Wednesday (May 03) at nine o’clock in the morning, the police recovered the body of the deceased from the side of Jamtoli road. Dighinala police station recovered the body of the deceased from the side of the road in Sudhir Member Para area of Ward No. 2 Boalkhali UP of Upazila. Initially, the locals believed that he had been stabbed to death by a sharp weapon late at night.
According to the police and local sources, the locals informed the police after seeing the dead body of a person lying there on Wednesday morning. Later, the police recovered the dead body from the spot. The deceased has injuries on his head, back and various parts of his body. Deceased Rahul Karmakar is the son of deceased Tapan Karmakar of Sudhir Member Para area of Ward No. 8 of Boalkhali UP.
At this time, Michael Dash, a nearby shopkeeper, said that Rahul Karmakar bought a drink from my shop at nine o’clock last Tuesday. Right in front of me, Rahul’s wife called to go home. He left the shop as he was going home.
Rupa Karmakar, the wife of the deceased, said that we had a phone conversation at nine o’clock yesterday, and he said that he would come home. Later the mobile phone was switched off from midnight.
Jiban Karmakar, the younger brother of the deceased, said that he did not come home at twelve o’clock, so I started looking for him. In the morning, I got a report of a dead body lying on the side of the road and identified it. He also said that my brother was killed in a planned manner.
Dighinala police officer in charge (OC) Muhammad Ali confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the body has been recovered from the spot. Efforts are being made to arrest those involved in the incident, he said. Police activities are continuing to uncover the mystery of the incident and identify those involved in the investigation and arrest.
