Dhaka Bureau: In the current 11th National Parliament, more than a hundred MPs of the ruling party Awami League are challenging their nominations. They have been considered ineligible to get the Awami League’s nomination in the 12th parliamentary election due to the spread of party discipline, creating their own circle, weakening the organization in the area, women scandals, loss of social status in family conflicts, and videos and audio recordings of conversations on social media.

In addition, many senior MPs may be disqualified due to their age. Many three-term MPs are going to drop out in order to establish new leadership. Party President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will draft the nomination after a series of meetings with the district and upazila Awami League. Multiple related sources have given this information.

The ruling political party, the Awami League, wants to come to power for the fourth time in a row. For this reason, the party has started preparations for the 12th National Assembly elections. For this purpose, the work of selecting candidates is going on along with drafting the election manifesto.

The party leaders said that the next election will be a challenge. Therefore, the Awami League wants to select candidates considering all aspects. For this, we are working very carefully. Party president Sheikh Hasina has given us some specific guidelines in this regard. We are following them.

The fate of the organizing secretaries and local MPs of the respective areas may also be decided in the five city corporation elections ahead of the national elections.

Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said that the upcoming elections are very challenging. We have to win this election. That is why we must be united.

According to sources, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has also conducted a survey with the leaders of the former Chhatra League, Jubo League, Volunteer League, Krishak League, Sramik League, Mahila Awami League, Jubo Mahila League, and other affiliated organizations. Many leaders have been accused of controversial activities. In these allegations, the party has taken a position against the leaders who have been nominated at the upazila and union level by the party, MPs, for either standing in favor of the rebels or fueling the conflict within the party. Even the condition of many MP-ministers in their respective constituencies is also fragile. Even though it is uninhabited, it has created its own ring in the area. In this context, many leaders of the Trinamool who have been active in the movements struggle in hard-working, tried, and difficult times have moved away from politics.

Several top leaders of the party said that the prime minister had taken the deed after a field survey by several organizations. In this context, nominations will be given for the next election. He takes timely decisions with discretion, whether for the party or the election. As a result, only noncontroversial, honest, educated, talented, self-sacrificing, tested, and acceptable candidates will get party nominations in the next election. No matter how big the leader is, he will not let anyone down.

Last December 24, before the 22nd National Conference of the Awami League, the leaders of the organizational team in charge of the eight divisions handed over the party MPs and ministers to Sheikh Hasina. Based on this, many Daksite leaders will be denied party nominations. Among them are many influential party leaders and MP-ministers. As a result, out of the 200 MPs finalized by the party president, there may be a change in candidacy in 100 seats. In this, many people will read ‘Asar Gude Bali’ to become MPs.

According to sources, party president Sheikh Hasina gave a clear message about the nomination at the Awami League parliamentary party meeting last January 12 night. He told all the MPs openly who would get the boat symbol in the next election and who would not.

Several leaders present at the meeting said that the party chief gave a warning message to the party MPs ahead of the upcoming national elections. Stating that the upcoming elections will be difficult and competitive, the prime minister said without mentioning anyone’s name that he could not take responsibility for anyone. Nominations will be given on the basis of a field survey.

In this regard, Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nashim said that a survey is being conducted on those who have complaints and the complaints themselves. Repeated field surveys are being taken. According to that protocol, if there is a complaint against any leader, no one will be spared.
No one will be nominated by face: Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s enthusiasm has been revealed in the organizational secretaries’ survey report. Allegedly, the organizational editors hid the faults of their own circles while preparing the survey report. For this reason, along with the organizational survey, inquiries are being made about party candidates with the help of special organizations.

According to the sources, first the activities of the current MPs are analyzed. The second step is to propose new potential candidates for the controversial MP seats. The new candidate must be trusted by both the party and the people.

According to sources, Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will hold a series of meetings with the upazila presidents and general secretaries after the meeting with the district presidents and general secretaries. Following this, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with the President-General Secretaries of the Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna District-Metropolitan, Netrakona, Noakhali, and Barguna District Awami Leagues at Ganabhaban last Thursday.

He said in the meeting that the next election will be very challenging. No one will be nominated by name. Those who are popular and who run with activists will be nominated. There is no reason to think that the nomination will be given only if there is an MP or a mayor. Based on the survey, a nomination will be given in the future.

According to sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will finalize the party nomination for the 12th parliamentary election based on the opinion of Trinamool leaders along with a survey of the party and domestic and foreign institutions. It will continue until the announcement of nominations for the next election. Based on the survey already received, more than half a hundred MPs will be denied nomination. Because these MPs have broken party discipline and weakened the party organizationally in their respective constituencies. Despite repeated warnings from the High Command, they have not corrected and conducted party activities as per their own. At the final stage, all the reports will be coordinated, and the boat will be nominated.

According to the latest survey data, 73 out of 300 seats are vulnerable to the Awami League. Out of this, 39 seats are at risk. The remaining 34 seats are relatively less important. The MPs of these constituencies did not pay attention to organizational work. On the contrary, it has weakened the organization by creating internal groups. Besides, Trinamool leaders have been kept away through nepotism. The survey has revealed that the victory in these seats can be confirmed if the candidate is changed. Besides, the survey showed that although the next election will be fiercely competitive, the Awami League’s victory in 92 seats is certain. It will not be possible to prevent the victory of the Awami League in all these constituencies.

Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak told the media about the preparation of party nominations for the upcoming parliamentary elections and that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is meeting with the leaders of 64 districts. After that, he will meet with UPA leaders. He is listening attentively and taking notes on complaints from local leaders. The prime minister directed the party leaders to maintain discipline. He warned everyone to prepare for the election. He instructed the MPs to promote the development activities of the government to the people, along with the local leaders, to prepare the ground for the upcoming elections.

He said that party chief Sheikh Hasina will finalize the nomination of the party candidate for the next election by combining the opinion of the district and upazila leaders with the results of the party survey as well as the survey results of local and foreign organizations.
