Thakurgaon Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that the recent clashes in Panchgarh were supported by the government.
He made this comment at an extended meeting organized by Thakurgaon district BNP on Monday (February 13) around 11 a.m.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul said that the incident of the Panchagarh conflict has created a cycle supported by the government: “When the people are agitating for the caretaker government before the elections, this conflict has been pre-planned to divert the movement to the other side.” And based on this incident, cases are being filed in the name of BNP-supported people and activists, and arrests are being made. He claimed that, at present, many BNP activists are homeless.
He also said, “Yesterday, the information minister went there and gave a false statement, blaming former parliamentarians Harunor Rashid and Rumin Farhana. The information minister said that the incident was reported from their Facebook ID. Which is false and baseless, and I strongly condemn and protest against it. Addressing the information minister, Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Please stop these false campaigns; they will not benefit you.’
