Dhaka Bureau: The hearing of the bail application of his girlfriend Amatullah Bushra, who was arrested in connection with the death of BUET student Fardin Noor Parash (24), has ended. The court said it will issue an order later
The hearing was held in the court of Dhaka’s Seventh Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Tehsin Iftekhar on Thursday (January 5). Earlier on November 31, when Bushra’s lawyer applied for the bail of Bushra in the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, the court fixed today for the hearing.
Speaking to reporters on December 15, DB chief Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid said that his girlfriend Amatul Bushra had nothing to do with the death of BUET student Fardin Noor Parsh. DB also said that the matter will be mentioned in the charge sheet of the case.
In response to a question about Bushra in jail, the DB chief said it is a court matter. We will mention his non-affiliation in our report.
Earlier, after a long 38-day investigation, the investigating agency Metropolitan Police (DB) said that Fardin wandered alone in different areas of Dhaka before his disappearance. Looking at the surroundings, it seems that he decided to commit suicide and wandered around to different places. All in all, we have come to a conclusion.
Bushra was arrested from a house in the capital’s Rampura area on the morning of November 10 in the case filed by Fardin Noor Parsh’s father on the charge of “killing and disappearing the body”. On the same day, he was brought to the court and Rampura Thana Police applied for a seven-day remand for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan granted a five-day remand.
After the five-day remand on November 16, the police brought Bushra to the court. After that, the investigating officer of the case, DB Police Inspector Mojibur Rahman requested to keep him in jail until the investigation of the case is over. On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused applied for bail. After the hearing of both parties, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah rejected his bail application and ordered to send him to jail.
Fardin was missing since November 5. On the same day, his father Kazi Noor Uddin made a general diary (GD) in this regard at Rampura police station in the capital. Naval police recovered the body of Fardin Noor Parsh from Shitalakshya river in Narayanganj on November 7, two days after the disappearance.
