The Crime Desk: Moulvibazar District Court lawyer Sujan Mia (38) was stabbed to death by miscreants.
On Sunday (April 6), at around 11:30 pm, 5-6 miscreants attacked him in front of the official residence of the Additional District and Sessions Judge of the District Judge Court in Moulvibazar Municipality. He was stabbed at that time.
Sujan Mia is a resident of Purba Hilalpur village in Moulvibazar Municipality. He is the son of Md. Zahirul Islam of that area.
Moulvibazar District Bar lawyer and government assistant lawyer SAM Habibullah said, “Advocate Sujan Mia is my friend. We obtained the Bar Council certificate together. He was stabbed by miscreants. Later, locals rescued him and took him to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.”
He said, “We demand the immediate arrest of the murderers from the administration. A strike has been declared at the Moulvibazar District Judge Court tomorrow. A human chain program will be held on the court premises tomorrow.”
Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Minhazur Rahman confirmed the incident and said, “A post-mortem report has been prepared on the body, and it has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. The investigation into the incident is underway. Legal action will be taken after finding out the information of the accused.”
