Dhaka Bureau: The date of submission of investigation report in the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Rooney, who have been chased for the 94th time. The court has set the next date for submitting the report on January 4.
The case was scheduled for submission of investigation report on Wednesday (December 1). But the investigating agency of the case did not submit the RAB report. For this reason, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam fixed the new date for submitting the court report.
Sub-inspector Jalal Uddin, officer of the general registration branch of the Sherebangla Nagar police station, said this. There are eight accused in the case including Rooney’s friend Tanveer Rahman. The other accused are – security personnel Enam Ahmed alias Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam, Bakul Mia, Mintu alias Bargira Mintu alias Masum Mintu, Kamrul Hasan Arun, Palash Rudra Pal, Tanveer and Abu Saeed.
Incidentally, on the night of February 11, 2012, journalist couple Machranga Television news editor Sagar Sarwar and ATN Bangla’s senior reporter Rooney were brutally murdered in their rented house in West Rajabazar of the capital. Their mutilated bodies were recovered early the next morning.
