Journalist Selina Akhter Sonali of Sojasapta newspaper went to the signboard area of Narayanganj to gather news during the conflict. But while collecting news, he himself became the headline. Some people in the guise of protestors openly pulled and tore his clothes on the street. Torture continued on him.

This inhumane incident took place on the afternoon of July 20 at the passport office intersection of the Narayanganj signboard area. Sonali alleged that she was attacked by BNP leaders and activists when she went to collect news about the violence.
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police arrested Shahidul Islam Titu, President of Fatulla Police Station BNP, following his complaint. DB Chief Haroon Or Rashid said that others involved in the incident will be arrested soon.
Two other female journalists, who were the victims of the same beating, said that the attackers took them to one side and started beating them with sticks. At that time, the attackers fled when a sound grenade was thrown from a helicopter.
