Sports Desk: At least 3 current players were killed in the shooting of a former UVA football player on the campus of the University of Virginia in the United States. Two people were injured in the incident on Sunday (November 13). This information was given in a CNN report.
According to the report, the incident took place late Sunday night at the main campus of the university in Charlottesville. The suspect, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., was arrested on three counts of second-degree murder and one count of using a handgun in connection with a felony. Jones was arrested around 11 a.m. local time Monday (Nov. 14) in Henrico County, Charlottesville.
The University of Virginia Office of Emergency Management said Jones was 22 and a football player, according to information submitted to the university in 2018. Police have not yet released the motive behind the attack.
The victims were Devin Chandler, De’Sean Perry and LaVell Davis Jr. University of Virginia President James E. Ryan said at least three people were killed in the shooting. 2 others were injured. Those who are now being treated at UVA Medical Center.
