Dhaka Bureau: Advisor to BNP Chairperson Habibur Rahman, alias Habib, has been sentenced to five months imprisonment and fined Tk 2,000 for contempt of court. Justice Abu Taher said on Wednesday (November 22). Saifur Rahman and Justice Md. A High Court bench comprising Bashir Ullah passed the order.
Earlier on Tuesday (November 21) morning, RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Senior ASP Shihab Karim confirmed the arrest of Habibur Rahman Habib from the Mirpur DOHS area of Pallabi Police Station in the capital.
In a message sent by RAB-2, it is said that he was arrested in the case of insulting the High Court and contempt of court. He was produced in court today (November 22).
RAB said that Habibur Rahman was arrested.
