NDTV says Sikkim received heavy rain overnight. After the heavy rains, the water level of Lonak Lake in North Sikkim overflowed, and the water level of the Teesta River rose a lot. The Teesta River flows through Sikkim and West Bengal and enters Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, among the North Bengal districts of India, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains on Wednesday, according to the forecast. Moreover, heavy rain will occur in Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Malda, North Dinajpur, and South Dinajpur.
