Sports Desk: Bangladesh team’s former bowling coach Heath Streak has passed away. The former Zimbabwe captain and pacer was 49 years old at the time of his death. It is known that this former cricketer was suffering from cancer for a long time. His death was confirmed by some of his teammates on social media.

Henry Olenga wrote on social media Twitter, ‘Sad news that Heath Streak has passed. Rest in peace legend. The best all-rounder of our country. It was a pleasure playing with you. When my bowling spell is over, I’ll see you on the other side.’ This all-rounder was one of the best in the country’s history as the captain of Zimbabwe during the period 2000-2004. He has played 189 ODIs with 65 Tests for the national team.

The streak is the only Zimbabwean bowler to take 100 wickets in Test cricket. He has single-handedly pulled the team in a career of almost an era. Despite his reputation for bowling, Streak has also made a great contribution with the bat. He scored 1990 runs in Tests and 2943 runs in ODIs. His first and only Test century in the whites came against the West Indies in Harare.

After making his debut against Pakistan in 1993, the streak marked his arrival with eight wickets in the second in Rawalpindi.
