Spain-England face off in the final today

Sports Desk: Spain and England will face each other in the Women’s World Cup today at 4 pm Bangladesh time at Australia Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park. Both the teams will play their first World Cup final match this time. So the main goal of both the teams is to win the title by playing their first World Cup final.

The Sweden women’s football team defeated the host Australia 2-0 yesterday in the third place match of this tournament which is about to end. This year’s Women’s World Cup has seen one surprise after another since the beginning. None of the top teams could make it to the last four this time. Finally, England women’s football team and Spain survive for the final fight. All things considered, English women are the stronger of the two teams. The Spanish and English women have met a total of 11 times so far.

Among them, Spain won 2 matches, England won 6 matches and the remaining 3 matches ended in a draw. Spain’s women have not won a single game at home. Both of their wins were against England. On the other hand, the English won one match at home and the remaining 5 matches at the opponent’s ground. Considering all the previous matches and FIFA ranking, England is ahead. In the FIFA women’s football rankings, England is at the fourth place, while Spain is at number 6 in the list. But Spain’s women are also in great form this time.

In this year’s World Cup, they achieved the status of playing the quarter-finals for the first time. And this time they have entered the final by fighting. So this time the Spanish fans are hoping to win the title of Spain. The Spain women’s football team left the field with wins in four of their last five matches.

Among them, they beat Sweden 2-1 in the last semi-final match. In the previous match, the Spanish women beat the Netherlands women 2-1 in the quarter-final clash. Spain’s win over Switzerland was a huge 5-1. They also won against Zambia by a huge margin of 5-0 goals. The Spanish women’s loss was against Japan, 4–0. On the other hand, England has no losing record in the last 5 matches.

They left the field with a win in 4 matches and a tie in one match. After an early 1-0 win over Denmark, they went on to beat China 6-1. Then the English women ended the match with a goalless draw against Nigeria. Colombia lost 2-1 against them in the last eight, followed by a 3-1 loss to hosts Australia in the semis. It will be known today which team will take home the title after keeping the rhythm and fighting.
