International Desk: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed the plight of prisoners of war in his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Erdogan promised to discuss the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. News CNN
Zelensky told a joint news conference early on Saturday (July 8) that the “main topic” of his talks with Erdogan in Istanbul was about the children of royal prisoners and exiles.
“There is a list, and we are actively working on it,” Zelensky said. Erdogan said he would discuss these common issues when he meets the Russian president again in August. “We’ve heard from Ukraine, and we’ve also heard from Russia, specifically about the prisoner exchange.
We will talk about this again when Putin visits Turkey next month. The talks will focus more on prisoner exchanges. We hope there will be a solution to this issue as well.
