Correspondent: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Cox’s Bazar Battalion has seized 1 lakh, 10 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets from Hoikang border in Teknaf. On Tuesday (June 27) night, an expeditionary patrol of Palangkhali BOP recovered this yaba in an abandoned state from the area of Ulubuniya Monir of Hoikang UP in Teknaf.
Acting Captain of BGB’s Cox’s Bazar Battalion (34 BGB) told The Crime that based on secret information, some drug dealers will enter Bangladesh from Myanmar with Yaba. On the basis of the information, an expeditionary patrol of Palangkhali BOP under the direction of the Acting Captain began to lay a trap at a strategic position in Ulubuniya Monir’s enclosure of Hoikang UP of Teknaf. At night, the BGB patrol saw some Yaba smugglers coming on foot from the border and challenged them. Sensing the presence of the BGB patrol, the drug dealers dropped their bags and quickly fled through the jungle towards Myanmar.
The BGB patrol has managed to recover 1 lakh, 10 thousand pieces of Burmese yaba from the spot by searching the bags left by the drug dealers.
