International Desk: 17 people were killed in an airstrike in Sudan. The attack took place on Saturday (June 17) in various parts of the capital, Khartoum. According to Al Arabiya report, the health department confirmed this in a post on social media Facebook.

Authorities said 17 people were initially confirmed dead. 5 of them are children. The health department also mentioned that 25 houses were destroyed in the airstrikes. At least 13 people were killed in an airstrike in Al Lammab area of West Khartoum on Friday, local administration said. Dozens of homes were bombed in southern Omdurman on Saturday. At least one person was killed there.

The local committee of Beit Al Mal area confirmed the matter. RSF members killed a family in an airstrike in Sharq-el-Nil district. The airstrikes and casualties came a day after a top Sudanese army general threatened to escalate attacks against the country’s paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF).

Fighting broke out between the Sudanese army and the RSF in Khartoum on April 15. And early this June, the RSF claimed full control of the Yarmouk area of Khartoum.
