Sumon Sarkar, Gaibandha: The Gaibandha District Police has solved the mystery of the Kochshahar Agricultural Development Bank robbery in Gobindganj Upazila of Gaibandha. Police arrested the night guard and recovered 12.5 lakhs of robbery money kept at his house. Gaibandhar Superintendent of Police Md. Kamal Hossain told reporters about the staged drama of the bank robbery at a press briefing at Gobindganj Police Station today, Monday (May 29).
According to the details of the case, the manager Jasmin Akhtar left the bank along with the staff in the evening (May 25) by closing the vaults and doors of the Kochshahar Branch of the Agricultural Development Bank. Then two days during the official holiday, the bank’s night guard Golam Hossain Jewel entered the bank with the help of others. They broke the lock of the vault of the bank and opened the lock of the chest and took 14 lakh taka kept in the vault. Meanwhile, the night guard Golam Hossain Jewel was tied up inside the bank to stage a robbery.
In this mysterious incident (May 28), Manager Jasmine Akhtar filed a case at Gobindganj Police Station as the plaintiff. The police arrested him. According to his confession, night guard Gholam Hossain Jewel recovered more than 12 and a half lakh rupees from the house of the night guard in the early morning of May 29.
