3 crew members are missing after a tanker catches fire in Malaysia

International Desk: A ship caught fire on the south coast of Malaysia. Three crew members of the ship are missing in this incident. A search is on for them. Reuters reported this information with reference to the Malaysian Navy.

According to the report, the accident happened on Monday, May 1. The Gabonese-registered vessel was reportedly en route from China to Singapore. It had a total crew of 28. The country’s navy said the ship caught fire in the afternoon.

Rescuers from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) rushed to the scene after receiving information at around 4 p.m. local time. A few other nearby ships also took part in the raid. At this time, they rescued 25 crew members. The cause of the fire on the ship is not yet known. The investigation has already started.
