Al-Jazeera, on the other hand, quoted witnesses as saying that dozens of people were killed in Tuesday’s attack. It was one of the deadliest attacks against rebel groups in the country since the military coup.
According to reports, the airstrikes occurred when residents were gathering for the inauguration of an administrative office. Al Jazeera journalist Tony Cheng quoted a survivor from the scene as saying that the attack was carried out by a jet at approximately 7:35 a.m. Sagaing area, about 110 km west of Yangon.
