International Desk: Despite being silent for a long time in the face of accusations from the West, Iran has admitted to providing drones to Russia. However, the country said that these drones were given to Russia a few months before the Ukraine war.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian said this on Saturday (November 5). Amir Abdullahian told reporters, “We supplied a limited number of drones to Russia many months before the Ukraine war.” Tehran is not supporting any side in this war.

Iran’s foreign minister said that Iran is even ready to discuss drones with Ukraine.

Denying allegations that Tehran is still supplying drones to Moscow, he added that while some western countries have started clamoring that Iran has supplied them with missiles and drones to help Russia in the Ukraine war, the missile supply part is completely wrong. The drone part is correct and we did send a small number of drones to Russia a few months before the Ukraine war started.

Tehran and Kiev agreed two weeks ago to hold talks over the alleged use of Iranian-made drones in Ukraine, news agency IRNA quoted Amir Abdollahian as saying. But no one appeared in the meeting later from the side of Ukraine.

Incidentally, over the past few weeks, Russia has launched a series of drone attacks on Ukraine’s military and civilian infrastructure, particularly power plants. Ukraine has alleged that Iran-made Shahed-13 or kamikaze drones are being used in these attacks.
