Mashrafe is now the oldest Bangladeshi bowler to take 5 wickets in List ‘A’ cricket. The country’s most successful bowler in List ‘A’ cricket set this record at the age of 39 years and 173 days.
The previous record was held by Mohammad Ashraful. He took 5 wickets for 23 runs in BKSP for Brothers Union against Mohammedan last March. He was then 37 years and 258 days old.
Mashrafe also crossed the milestone of 450 wickets as the first bowler of Bangladesh in List ‘A’ cricket in this match. His wickets are now 452 in 324 matches.
