International Desk: Ten people, including three women, died in a gun attack in a bar in central Mexico’s Guanajuato province. Five others were injured in this incident. This information was reported by the news agency AFP in a report on Monday (March 13), citing officials.
It said the attack took place at a bar called El Estadio in Guanajuato Province after 11 p.m. local time on Saturday. The bar is located next to a highway that connects the cities of Celaya and Queretaro and was invaded by a group of armed men during the attack. Later, they opened fire on the customers and employees of the bar. Officials said seven of the dead were men and three were women.
Guanajuato, Mexico, is a thriving industrial region. It is also home to some of Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations. This important region has a refinery and an important fuel pipeline.
But conflict between two groups, the Santa Rosa de Lima and Jalisco New Generation cartels, has made it one of Mexico’s most violent provinces.
These criminal gangs are fighting each other to control drug and smuggled fuel routes. However, authorities did not say whether any criminal group was suspected in the latest attack.
