Sunamganj representative: A traditional village-Bangla horse race was held in Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj.
On Tuesday, March 7, the villagers organized this horse race in Dhanpur village, Shimulbank union of the upazila. Thousands of people from the surrounding areas gathered in Dhanpur village since morning around the horse racing competition.
Nitai Das, who came to watch the horse race, said that after a long time she came to watch the horse race for entertainment. Now, generally, there is no entertainment in rural areas. All the men and women of the countryside are enjoying the horse race. Everyone is excited.
Zahirul Islam Amit, who came to enjoy the horse race, said, “A few of us have come here together.” Enjoying horse racing in a peaceful atmosphere.
Lecturer Noor Hossain, Vice Chairman of Shantiganj Upazila Parishad, attended the prize distribution ceremony after the day-long horse race and presented the prizes to the winners as the chief guest. Race horses from Sunamganj district participated in the competition.
