A fire broke out in a house in New York’s Spring Valley in the early hours of Saturday (March 4) local time. News from CBS News
It is reported that a fire broke out at a residence at 118 Lake Street around 4 a.m. local time. Rockland County Fire Service arrived at the scene after receiving the information.
Local fire service coordinator Christopher Kier said there were reports that several people were trapped inside a burned house. Although an attempt was made to enter the house at the initial stage, it was not possible to do so due to the dire situation. At one point, the fire was brought under control at 4:40 am, but the fire service and policemen failed to rescue the people trapped inside the house. Later, two and three bodies were brought out from the first floor of the building.
Kear also said that when the fire spread, a person jumped from the second floor. Attempts are being made to find out the cause and source of the fire. Spring Valley Police Chief Rick Oleszczuk said the investigation is still in its early stages. But soon we hope to know the cause of the fire. According to local authorities, one member of the fire service was injured during the rescue operation. He was treated at the scene. On the other hand, the remaining five injured people were taken to a local hospital.
